We just got a sneak peek into the Victoria's Secret Black Friday 2016 sale!
As they have in years past, Victoria's Secret will be offering a Black Friday exclusive tote bag. This tote bag and mini bag will be free with a $75 purchase on Black Friday 2016. Usually the bag comes filled with fun freebies like beauty products or coupons.
Last year the Victoria's Secret Black Friday sale also included BOGO 50% off bras and discounts on clothing. On a personal note, this author purchased the Black Friday 2015 tote bag and it was surprisingly high-quality. I have been using it as a workout bag and it held up very well.

Black Friday 2016 Date
This year Black Friday lands on November 25, 2016. Black Friday is always the day following Thanksgiving Day which is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. Black Friday typically signals the beginning of the holiday shopping season. While Black Friday shopping used to be a late night to early morning venture, for better or worse many major stores now begin their Black Friday sales Thanksgiving evening as early as 5pm.
Due to Black Friday becoming such a massive shopping event, there has been a very popular "spin-off" shopping day for the holiday season: Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday is the Monday which follows Black Friday and genearlly considered to feature "online only" sales. But don't be mistaken - almost all stores feature their Black Friday discounts online as well.

Top Black Friday 2016 Stores
Every year new stores fall in and out of the Black Friday fold. However there are some major stores which command the most attention from Black Friday shoppers. Here's a list of the very top stores which we can expect the most from this year for Black Friday 2016:
Walmart Black Friday
Walmart is one of the premier Black Friday stores, and their Black Friday ad break is one of the biggest events of the year. Anticiapte Walmart's Black Friday ad to break around Nov. 12 2016.
Target Black Friday
Target is always a major player in Black Friday sales. We'll be looking out this year to see how well their prices, particularly in electronics, will stack up against the likes of Walmart and Amazon.
Amazon Black Friday
Amazon has typically been a bit of an outsider when it comes to the big Black Friday week sales. Of course, they have always made a big splash during Cyber week. But we think they'll put a big effort towards capturing sales during the entire Black Friday season.
Kohl's Black Friday
Kohl's has been dominating the early part of Black Friday week the last two years by starting their sale on Monday! Look for Kohl's to continue this trend and get ready to snag some fantastic deals before the big day.
Sears Black Friday
Sears releases one of the most expansive Black Friday ads every year. While they're always in the electronics mix with the other big retailers, where Sears really stands out is all of the other product categories largely ignored by the others such as tools, automotive, and jewelry.
Samsung Black Friday
Samsung has always had great Black Friday products. But now Samsung is continuing to grow their own online store so we can't wait to see what's in store from them this Black Friday 2016.
American Eagle Black Friday
American Eagle is a great destination come Black Friday because they often feature storewide or sitewide sales. Look for some great discounts from American Eagle not only on Black Friday but also in the days and weeks which follow.
Black Friday 2016 Ad Release Dates
One of the biggest themes for Black Friday 2016 will be how much earlier Black Friday events occur. While we strongly expect the top stores to stick to their normal Black Friday ad release times, we believe many smaller or mid-tier Black Friday stores will release their ad earlier for Black Friday 2016 so as to grab some needed Black Friday attention. And hey, we'll be happy to oblige! We love seeing newer and smaller stores comepete in the Black Friday spotlight.
We'll be tracking all of the Black Friday ads here.
Black Friday 2016 Sale Times
We believe this will be one of the main highlights of Black Friday 2016: earlier Black Friday sale times. Kohl's has taken their compeition by storm in recent years by beginning their Black Friday sale online starting on the Monday before Black Friday. For the consumer, this is great because we can weigh the options of either buying items from Kohl's earlier in the week or holding out until Thanksgiving to shop a different store. We don't think other retailers will let Kohl's "get away" with stealing Black Friday 2016! Look for other big stores starting their online sales earlier, and slowly shift "Black Friday" into "Black Friday Week".

What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is fast becoming the best day to hunt for a bargain whether you’re in the US or the UK. In other words, it’s the best day of the year to go shopping, just as long as you’re wearing lots of protective clothing and don’t mind fighting in the aisles.
Black Friday survival guide: how to save money and stay sane
Shops offer quite substantial discounts in a bid to persuade their customers to start their Christmas shopping early. Although traditionally the discounts are on for one day only, some shops such as Amazon, offer discounts during the week running up to D-Day.
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving. This year that falls 25th of November.
Do I only have one day to do my shopping?
No. Although Black Friday will happen on November 25, some retailers will start their week as of Monday November 23. Retailers in the UK will open as early as 6am although the best deal can be found online when they go live at midnight.
“Black Friday”, what a strange name…
Nobody is entirely sure of where the name comes from. For some it is the day retailers books go from red to black as they make their biggest profit.
Others say the American police was the one to name Black Friday during the 1950s and 1960s because of the chaos that ensued in the city after Thanksgiving as shoppers flocked to the high street sales while spectators travelled to the annual Army vs Navy American football match.
What happened last year?
Last year saw a complete change with customers staying away from the high street and doing all their shopping online.
That just set the UK on course for the biggest online shopping day in its history, with some of the nation’s biggest retailers struggling to cope with the volume of online retail orders. The websites of John Lewis, Argos, Boots, Tesco and Game all crashed or suffered from slow loading pages.
